An afternoon of digital acoustic violin and Monique's Chocolates

Sunday, June 12, 2011  4:00PM

Mayes-Smith Home, 2808 Silverton Way; Sparks, Nevada

Suggested Donation: $25/person

Featuring:

  • Jason Marsh on digital acoustic violin
  • Chocolate truffles supplied by Monique’s Chocolates of Palo Alto
  • Ice cream and strawberries
  • Audio–visual presentation by Denali Marsh

Denali Marsh, a high school sophomore at Mira Loma High School in Sacramento, will be participating in a service trip to Peru this  summer as part of DiscoveryBound’s National Leadership Council. While there, he will be working with Peru’s Challenge. He will be helping to build and plant a greenhouse alongside parents of the children he’ll be teaching in school. Funds are needed for materials, contributions to the school, and travel expenses.

Jason Marsh performs acoustic violin with a computer and pedals to layer sixteen tracks of sound created live from the violin fingerboard. From classical to fiddle, he improvises full orchestrations real-time. The result is both beautiful and dramatic. Hear more at marshworks.com.

Please feel free to pay at the door or pay Denali in person and save yourself credit card processing fees of about 5%. Come one, come all: please don't let the suggested donation keep you and your family from attending, there is no minimum, but we do need a count, and space is limited, so please reserve now.
